Current River Canoe Trip

Imagine a perfectly clear spring-fed river escorting your canoe between its lush banks. A beaver, muskrat and bird stop to observe you or scurry away under your watchful eye. The fluffy white clouds massage the brilliant blue sky while the sun commands you to pull over and refresh your skin beneath the sparkling water. How can one feel so invigorated and peaceful at the same time?

On Wednesday, June 21, the Key Family along with two boyfriends, one cousin and a classmate, headed to Southern Missouri to float the Current River. We camped out in tents and cooked our food on a camp stove. Our four rented canoes each made it to the end of the route without loosing a passenger. No mishaps occurred when the brave among us jumped off a cliff into the water. The next day we played in the camp’s swimming pool after taking down our campsite. Marco Polo anyone?
